TSPinvestor Plus and Apex Allocations for Jan 2016

The TSPinvestor Plus and Apex allocations for January 2016 are:

Plus: 5% G Fund; 18% F Fund; 15% C Fund; 62% S Fund; 0% I Fund

Apex: 100% S Fund

These should be allocated prior to Jan 11, 2016 at noon EST.

To implement this allocation, login to your account and change the fund allocations (via interfund transfer) and your new contributions to the recommended percentage.  These take effect the same business day if done before noon Eastern Time, otherwise it will be the next day.

The TSPinvestor Apex is a nominal 23% annual return strategy, and the Plus is a nominal 19% annual return.

Last month’s Plus performance was a loss of 7.0%, and the Apex lost 8.3%.

Overall the stock markets lost large money, while the bond market slightly gained.  The allocations for the upcoming month was not affected by the market losses.

Here is a comparison of the various allocations and funds performance for November 2015:

TSPinvestor Plus = (7.0%)

TSPinvestor Apex = (8.3%)

50% C & S = (7.5%)

1/3 each in C, S & I = (7.2%)

20% in each fund = (4.2%)

G Fund = 0.2%

F Fund = 0.4%

C Fund = (6.7%)

S Fund = (8.3%)

I Fund = (6.6%)

NOTE: These are like comparisons based upon allocations on the 9th of the month.

  1. Boy, rough sledding this month/year. Plus and Basic looks to be taking less of the brunt of this downturn. Interested to see what next month’s allocations will be.


    • I agree Jon. And since your message a couple of weeks ago it’s only continued. I am posting the new Basic today .. but it did better than many aggressive strategies through diversification. I like to look at how it performs against my time-tested aggressive strategy I used for 12 years — 50% in C and S — which performed well over time.
